The theoretical basis of this work originated from the analysis of a number of psychological variables that define the antecedents and the consequents of the behavior of innovation in relation to the person-environment fit. According to the interactionist perspective the measure of person-environment fit comes from the observation that the individual and the environment are part of a rich and compelling relationship and that human behavior is a function regulated by interdependent factors composed of personality and the surrounding context. The intent is to draw some lines of research and intervention in order to facilitate the transferability of the concept of person-environment fit in innovation processes.
