Abstract
The contribution aims to confirm the existence of an active scriptorium connected with the cathedral of San Zeno in Pistoia during the late eleventh and early twelfth centuries and to investigate the role of notaries that collaborated with the chapter; some of them not only drew up documents for the cathedral but also wrote manuscripts for the cathedral’s library. The palaeographic similarities between the hands of these notaries suggest that, inside the cathedral, there was a school that served to train notaries and scribes.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
