The present paper analyses F. de Saussure’s manuscripts concerning interest- ing histori(ographi)cal and linguistics remarks on two Latin inscriptions from Geneva area, and places them in the context of Saussure’s scienti c interest. The author moves from Saussure’s comment on pierre-pertuis text to discuss some linguistic aspects of the inscription, in particular its syntactic order, also in the framework of the formulary of roman epigraphy.
