This paper aims at a reassessment of the current image of the (German) Enlightenment, and particularly at a ultimate rejection of charges à la Adorno and Horkheimer. In order to do so, this paper stresses the aporetic dimension of the Enlightenment, which thus emerges as a self-critical and anything but sterile and one-sided movement.
