Abstract

A Decision Support System (DSS) suitable for wine farm economic analysis in the framework of climate change was implemented. The tool allows for best adaptation strategies depiction as well as scenario assessment. A mix-method approach was applied to integrate probability calculation, complex system analysis and operational research. The model was tested for a case study area located in central Italy (Chianti Classico context). Among outputs, in order to maintain and improve future financial performances, organic farming as well as intervention on disciplinaries were resulted as important strategies. In conclusion, the research put in evidence how the open-source and flexible structure of the DSS can favourite useful scenario and sensitivity analysis for different study area and climatic variables of viticulture sector
