“Fattasi quasi rovina di se stessa”. La luce nell'opera di Giovanni Testori

This article analyses the fundamental role that light plays in Giovanni Testori’s work, particularly in terms of the narrative and poetic spheres. To this end, it emphasizes both the importance of the pictorial code in the writer’s literary mimesis and his reflections on religion. This article, therefore, will focus mainly on the novel La cattedrale, in which light itself becomes the subject of the narration, which is intimately linked to Testori’s original interpretation of the Holy Scriptures.
