For the first time Ruthenium nanoparticles (NPs) were produced by pulsed laser ablation in liquids. The NPs morphology was characterized as well as their composition. A useful correlation between their absorption spectra and their concentration was found. Possible applications of the nanoparticles were also explored.

Abstract
