The PAMELA (Payload for Antimatter Matter Exploration and Light nuclei Astrophysics) experiment is a satellite-borne apparatus, mounted on the Resurs DK1 Russian satellite, in orbit around the Earth since June 15th 2006. The apparatus is able to identify charge particles in the cosmic radiation by using an array of detectors which includes a time-of-flight system, a magnetic spectrometer, a silicon-tungsten electromagnetic calorimeter. In the standard analysis the measurement of the charge magnitude Z of the incoming particle in the apparatus is performed by the time-of-flight system and the momentum of the particle is provided by the magnetic spectrometer. As an independent measurement and internal consistency check we report preliminary results on flux ratios of light nuclei obtained by using time of flight system to measure both Z and energy of incoming particles in the range from ≈ 0.2 up to few GeV/n.
