The “100 Rural Roman Farms in Lucca” project has been carrying out archaeological research in Lucca’s plain where stratified sites and landscapes were found. In this archaeological sounding and preserving context, new technologies have been applied to obtain, process and interpret data: Remote sensing, Aerial photo, Scanner laser, GPS, Topographic and Photogrammetry survey, Geological prospection, GIS analysis, 3D recostruction and Web-database GIS. In the specific of a new wooden structure discovered just few months ago in a cultual area, the complete survey and analysis of the area was broached with the intent of finding out new archaeological manufacts and studying in depth management, restoration and conservation of them. A particular attention of our study was therefore paid to research opportunities enabled by new technologies to the surveyor, with specific reference to applications derived from the use of a laser scanner on wooden structures. An important result that let understand and program in 3D-VR the restoration and management project on the archaeological site.
