Abstract

I_Building project is generated by the convergence of ANCE, ANCI and ABITA Research Centre, sharing the idea to develop a model for promoting energy efficiency in existing public building stock. In the framework of cities’ development, the project will trigger a virtuous cycle, testing a smart governance model focusing on the 202020 objectives and the integrated management of Open Data. The interdisciplinary approach will take into account the climatic conditions, the preservation of the building traditions consolidated in the Mediterranean area, the new social needs, as well as the technological / typological innovation, introducing the ICT tool for more efficient data management, cross-reading of the critical issues, allowing free access and sharing of “ open data “ through an user friendly platform . The integrated approach will focus on the energy savings potential in public buildings due to the climate and cultural Mediterranean context. The comfort issues, related to the specific climatic conditions of the Mediterranean area, as well as the consumption of natural resources, require specific solutions, driving the research for new technical and economies solutions to reduce energy consumption.
