Conservation and effective sustainable management of mountain wetlands requires a good knowledge of both local environmental drivers and territorial variables at the landscape scale. In this study, we try to answer to the following questions: (i) What are the main environmental factors driving species composition at the local scale? (ii) What are the differences in environmental variables controlling plant assemblage between palustrine and lacustrine wetlands? (iii) What is the role of spatial factors in determining the variation in plant species composition of mountain wetlands?
