This paper deals with elastoplastic constitutive equations for masonry. This model is formulated in a fairly general way to include several types of stress ranges encountered in applications. This constitutive law, which is a generalization of that of normal elastic materials, has been implemented into the finite element code MADY and used for the dynamic analysis of a masonry tower. The results obtained for both elastoplastic and normal elastic materials are compared.
