This paper aims to illustrate a research activity in Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications on the themes of architectural sustainability and design processes that pursue low environmental and social impact. The experimentation of the potentialities of parametric modeling and interoperability between BIM systems as tools for optimization of sustainability design processes has been conducted on a case study: the Operational Control Center of the new Oman railway line in the Arabian peninsula.
