The art and literature magazine “Broom”, published by Americans between Rome, Berlin and New York, from November 1921 to January 1924, well represents the cultural dialogue between America and Europe during Twenties. The magazine is characterized by a vivid editorial life that produced an eclectic result. In its pages, indeed, is possible to found different influences from Cubism to Constructivism to Dada. Broom’s aim was to questioning the future of American culture, even due to a privileged relationship with some influential European intellectuals. The magazine became the organ of Modernism propaganda, the theatre of the debate on themes regarding the role of machine in the society and its role in the artistic creation.
