A compact printed antenna array for dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) at 5.8 GHz is presented. The proposed device is based on the sequential rotation arrangement (SRA) applied to a parasitic loaded patch antenna. Despite the compact dimension, the proposed array presents a left-hand gain of 10.5 dB at centre frequency, as well as an axial ratio equal to 0.5 dB and a return loss in excess of 16 dB. Therefore, the device is adequate to operate according to the European framework of DSRC for traffic monitoring in the C-band.

Abstract
A compact printed antenna array for dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) at 5.8 GHz is presented. The proposed device is based on the sequential rotation arrangement (SRA) applied to a parasitic loaded patch antenna. Despite the compact dimension, the proposed array presents a left-hand gain of 10.5 dB at centre frequency, as well as an axial ratio equal to 0.5 dB and a return loss in excess of 16 dB. Therefore, the device is adequate to operate according to the European framework of DSRC for traffic monitoring in the C-band.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
