The main part of the public housing interventions in Florence consist of masonry buildings made in the frst decades of the XX century. These buildings were made without any seismic regulation, and, possibly, with poor material and a scarce control of the construction process. Therefore, their seismic performance could not comply the current safety standard. In this work, some typical masonry buildings have been assumed to represent the public building population of Florence. One of these buildings has been selected as case-study, and a seismic analysis has been performed to evaluate its seismic assessment. A seismic input compatible to the seismic hazard and soil area has been assumed, and a static nonlinear analysis has been performed to evaluate the seismic response. The obtained results have evidenced a possible seismic vulnerability of the case-study, depending on the assumptions made about its foundation soil and mechanical properties.

Abstract
The obtained results have evidenced a possible seismic vulnerability of the case-study, depending on the assumptions made about its foundation soil and mechanical properties.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
