The issue of knowledge and understanding regarding the instability of architectural structures is among the most complex part of the restoration. No wonder that in the "Tempio della Consolazione" this topic was studied from the late XVIIIth century and still today has not come to a conclusion. During the XXth century, the analysis of the structural instability of the "Tempio della Consolazione" made use of increasingly advanced measuring instruments. However, only in recent years, has it been possible to have a laser scanner survey, which provides basic metric data to develop more in-depth aspects of architecture. One of these involved the overall deformation of the "Tempio della Consolazione", which has tilted as a entire rigid body. It is an acquisition which addresses toward a more specific diagnosis, which leads us to reflect on the structural interventions carried out up to now in the church.
