Il dialogo di Vincenzo Monti Matteo giornalista, comparso a Milano nel 1816 nel pieno della battaglia romantica e lasciato incompiuto, ha avuto il singolare destino di scomparire presto dal corpus delle opere dell’autore e dall’orizzonte degli studiosi. Eppure si tratta di uno degl’interventi più acuti e originali sull’effervescente vita letteraria milanese nel secondo decennio del secolo. ----- Vincenzo Monti’s dialogue Matteo giornalista, an unfinished work which appeared in Milan in 1816, during the peak of the romantic movement, was singularly destined to quickly disappear from the body of the author’s works and from the academic scenario. Yet it is one of the most pungent and original works on the exhuberant Milanese literary circle during the second decade of the century.
