This volume presents authors (K. Lewin, M. Sherif, S. Moscovici, S. Milgram, H. Tajfel among others) and topics which specifically distinguish Social Psychology. Trying, in other terms, to catch from the “here and now”, the connection between the individual and the collective (“collective” meant also as the culture we belong to). After an historical framework of the subject in relation to the main psychology schools of the Twentieth century (Psychoanalysis, Behaviourism, Gestalt psychology, Cognitivism, Cultural psychology), the author offers a few methods of research and themes on which Social Psychology applies to. Child infantile social development, cognition, communication, attitudes, sympathy, destructiveness, relationships between groups, social influence, health and “mental health”.
