The freshwater riparian talitrid amphipod Orchestia cavimana was found for the first time in the Arno River basin and studied for orientation capabilities. Sun orientation and slope orientation were present in this amphipod. With respect to the moon a photomenotaxis without compensation of the moon azimuth was obeserved.

Abstract
