Abstract
T he possibility of perform ing in proxim ity of the Earth experiments to t est the predictions of general relativity for the traject ories of particles and photons in weak grav itational ®elds is studied. T hree exp erim ents are analyz ed, all based on optical det ection methods. The ®rst experi- m ent would allow to det ect the tidal acceler ation using a freely-falling Michelson interferom et er. In a second experim ent, based on laser-ranging m ethods, the relativistic correction to the classical gravit y acceler ation could be det ect ed. Finally, the possibility of det ecting light de¯ ection induced by space curvature in an optical cav ity with high-re¯ ectivity m irrors is discussed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
