This affinity is sounded out through a rich series of confrontations with some of the more meaningful theoretical positions concerning the relation between philosophy and art, in particular between philosophy and literature. Some examples of the theoretical positions addressed here are the analysis of Gilles Deleuze on Melville, or the analysis of Michel Foucault on writing and the experience of the 'outside', not forgetting the precious research of Ferruccio Masini dedicate to Musil's 'The Man without Qualities'".

Abstract

"Art is, in all articulations, an enterprise of health and, therefore, an exercise of freedom. Moving from this contention, the book highlights, between the proper field of aesthetics and the field of ethic evaluation, the affinity and strict connection between the work of art and the act of resistance to the system of the current opinion.
