Carte dell’Archivio Arcivescovile di Pisa. Fondo Arcivescovile. I (720-1100)

Il volume contiene l'edizione critica delle più antiche pergamene (anni 720-1100) del fondo diplomatico più ricco, omogeneo e importante fra gli archivi pisani: il Fondo Arcivescovile dell'Archivio Arcivescovile di Pisa. Si tratta di 209 testi documentari inediti, ad eccezione di 30 documenti dei secoli VIII e IX già pubblicati (sia in edizione critica nel 1929-1933 da Luigi Schiaparelli nel Codice diplomatico longobardo, sia in facsimile con trascrizione nel 1987 e nel 2001 nella serie delle Chartae latinae antiquiores), che l'Autrice in ogni caso rivede offrendo anche lezioni diverse. Gli studiosi hanno finora letto e impiegato i documenti antichi di questo fondamentale archivio soltanto grazie al "Regesto della Chiesa di Pisa", pubblicato da Natale Caturegli nel 1938 nella serie "Regesta Chartarum Italiae": i regesti in latino convenzionale del benemerito Caturegli hanno spesso supplito finanche la funzione primaria dei documenti regestati nelle citazioni testuali dei lavori degli storici, svolgendo il ruolo, si potrebbe dire, di una metafonte. Il volume è il primo di una serie di tre (Biblioteca del «Bollettino storico pisano». Fonti; 11, I-III): insieme al secondo e al terzo – concernenti il periodo 1100-1200 ed editi a cura di Silio P.P. Scalfati – esso costituisce il risultato dei lavori di un PRIN cofinanziato nel 2003 dal Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca scientifica (coordinatore nazionale S.P.P. Scalfati). The volume contains the critical edition of 209 documentary texts, wich represent the most ancient parchement documents (from the year 720 to 1100 AD) preserved in the most rich, omogeneous and important diplomatic fonds of the Pisan archives: the Fondo Arcivescovile of the "Archiepiscopal Archive" of Pisa. Among them only 30 documents of the 8th and 9th century have been published in full text before (in 1929-1933 by L. Schiaparelli, "Codice diplomatico longobardo", and in 1987 and 2001 in the facsimile collection of the Chartae Latinae Antiquiores): the Author, however, revises them and gives in some case new readings of the text. The documents of the Fondo arcivescovile are well known by historians thanks to the "Regesto della Chiesa di Pisa", published by Natale Caturegli in 1938 in the series "Regesta Chartarum Italiae": these recollected summaries of the documents written by Caturegli in a 'standard' latin have often served as substitutes of the documents themselves. The volume is the first of a series of three («Biblioteca del «Bollettino storico pisano». Fonti; 11, I-III): with the second volume and the third one – concerning the period from 1100 to 1200 and edited by S.P.P. Scalfati – it represents the result of a Research Project "PRIN 2003" financed by the Ministry of Education and Research (National Coordinator: S.P.P. Scalfati).
