A retrospective review of our patients with Kawasaki disease and coronary abnormalities confirmed that the fever duration correlated with major cardiac involvement. The IVGG re-treatment was successful in reducing fever duration and might have enhanced the good resolution of coronary damage. In Dr. Sundel's re-treated patients, IVGG was administered at the dose of 1 gm/kg; we used 2 gm/kg and we could not observe any side effects. Although it remains unknown what cumulative IVGG dose may be optimal either in preventing or in controlling coronary involvement, we believe that patients with a severe disease course require more than one cycle of IVGG.
