We conducted progeny tests on sandhoppers from natural populations in Mediterranean sandy shores. The results of sun orientation tests on laboratory-born families showed genetic variation among individual within and between populations, thus confirming the inheritance of the orientation behaviour in the natural populations.

Abstract
