An Introductory Note. Sustainability: Complexity and Potentiality

In order to achieve a better understanding of sustainability and of its implementation,two main areas of discussion have to be explored in an extensive design process: Sustainability considering academic/theoretical issues and sustainability considering practical issues. Most importantly, the eco-sustainable design depends on different contexts and on people’s attitude. This means that between people and the environment there has to be equilibrium but also that social and economic proposals have to play a role of some critical issue, thereby providing local options for city lifestyle.
