The sun orientation of natural populations of sandhopeprs from dynamic shores near river mouths, was studied in freshly collected and laboratory-born individuals. A phenotypic plasticity of orientation behaviour was confirmed and the possibility of learning a new direction was shown for the first time under natural conditions.
