Novel pyrrolidinium salts based on L-(+)-tartaric acid were designed and synthesized in very good yields with a simple and practical strategy. Twelve new chiral ionic potential taskspecific catalysts, two of which are room-temperature chiral ionic liquids (RTCIL), were obtained, and their properties are discussed.

Abstract
