Abstract: A novel microwave sensor for remote detection of structural displacements is experimented as geotechnical instrument for dynamic and static testing of bridges. The sensor is based on an interferometric radar providing range imaging capability and sub-millimetric accuracy range displacement measurement. The results of a number of validation campaigns are reported: a highway bridge forced by vehicular traffic, a railways bridge, and a pedestrian bridge.
