Abstract

Quantitative data about water conditions of soil and vegetation, can be obtained by using microwave sensors. The combined use of this technique with physically based hydrological models, can be employed for estrapolating punctual data over large areas. The methods, described in this paper for hydrological studies, help gain an understanding of soil erosion mechanisms along slopes considering all those parameters which have relevance in conditioning this process.
