Il gambero invasivo Procambarus clarkii nel Consorzio della Bonifica Parmigiana-Moglia-Secchia.

The invasive crayfish Procambarus clarkii in the Consorzio della Bonifica Parmigiana-Moglia-Secchia - The invasive crayfish Procambarus clarkii is distributed in the “Consorzio di Bonifica Parmigiana-Moglia-Secchia” (Emilia-Romagna), its digging activity inflicting economic costs due to the canals restoration. In 2007, we conducted a preliminary survey to assess the status of P. clarkii’s population in the area. In 15 flaring ditches, we collected environmental data and analyzed crayfish population size and structure, its digging activity, and the presence of macroinvertebrates in the soil. The results showed that the study area is homogeneous for the analyzed parameters; P. clarkii is widely diffused and abundant; digging activity is intense but not related to crayfish population size.
