The aim of the present work was to carry out a screening for variation in a structural gene and in repetitive DNA sequences in tobacco cell clones selected or not for resistance to the herbicide atrazine, in order to (1) ascertain the molecular nature of genetic variability induced by in vitro culture, (2) study the effect of culture condition on its amount and spectrum and (3) analyse the fate of molecular changes during development.

Abstract

The aim of the present work was to carry out a screening for variation in a structural gene and in repetitive DNA sequences in tobacco cell clones selected or not for resistance to the herbicide atrazine, in order to (1) ascertain the molecular nature of genetic variability induced by in vitro culture, (2) study the effect of culture condition on its amount and spectrum and (3) analyse the fate of molecular changes during development.
