Y(hfac),NITEt (hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate; NITEt = 2-ethyl-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydlrHo--i midazolyl- 1-oxy 3-oxide) crystallizes in the monoclinic s ace group P21/n with cell parameters a = 11.245 (1) A, b = 17.257 (7) A, c = 18.357 (3) A, 0 = 98.39 (l)", V = 3524.13 R3, and 2 = 4. The crystal structure determination converged with R = 0.132. The molecular structure consists of linear chains made by Y(hfac), moieties bridged by nitronyl nitroxide radicals. Single-crystal EPR spectra and magnetic susceptibility data measured in the 300-4.2 K temperature range are discussed.
