After the discussion on the behavior of radio-frequency passive circuit components (capacitor, inductance and resistance) in this issue of Tutto_Misure we want to show the impact of the concepts described so far on a practical case: the design and synthesis of a radio-frequency filter for attenuation of signals in the radio broadcast FM band (88MHz - 108MHz). As it will be explained in the article, the use of this type of filters is often “a must” to ensure a correct radiated emission measurement carried out in an open area test site for EMC assessment.

Abstract

After the discussion on the behavior of radio-frequency passive circuit components (capacitor, inductance and resistance) in this issue of Tutto_Misure we want to show the impact of the concepts described so far on a practical case: the design and synthesis of a radio-frequency filter for attenuation of signals in the radio broadcast FM band (88MHz - 108MHz). As it will be explained in the article, the use of this type of filters is often “a must” to ensure a correct radiated emission measurement carried out in an open area test site for EMC assessment.
