The X-ray structure of Cu(en)3Cl2 · 0.75 en has been solved as a model of frozen Jahn-Teller distortions experienced by Cu(en)2+3 complexes. The distorted chromophores are elongated octahedra though the crystal g values simulate a compressed distortion.
