Retropritoenal sarcoma have always been difficult to treat due to an elevated rate of unresectability. Liposarcoma next to malignant fibrous histiocytoma, is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in the adult. Notably it presents a variable histological picture and often reaches large dimensions before becoming clinically evident. In contrast to the benefit most patients with high-grade soft-tissuesarcomas derives from adjuvant radiation and chemotherapy, these modalities have proved of little value in retroperitoneal tumors. The use of chemotherapy has no significant effect on survival and high dose of radiation can harm the abdominal organs.

Abstract
Retropritoenal sarcoma have always been difficult to treat due to an elevated rate of unresectability. Liposarcoma next to malignant fibrous histiocytoma, is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in the adult. Notably it presents a variable histological picture and often reaches large dimensions before becoming clinically evident. In contrast to the benefit most patients with high-grade soft-tissuesarcomas derives from adjuvant radiation and chemotherapy, these modalities have proved of little value in retroperitoneal tumors. The use of chemotherapy has no significant effect on survival and high dose of radiation can harm the abdominal organs.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
