Immigration is a growing phenomenon in the world (according to ISTAT dates of 1°January 2011, there are 200 millions of immigrants in the World and 7,5% resides in Italy) that could represent a potential positive or negative experience for health immigrants. In fact there are multiple risk factor (precarious housing conditions, under-working occupation, climate change, poor access to quality food, psycho-social maladjustment) and protective factors (social and individual resources) that can influence the health status of immigrants. The present investigation aims to identify possible association between psychological well-being (PWB) and perceived physical and mental health. High or low levels of psychological well-being, considered as a personal resource, may play a role as protective or risk factor for the health and quality of life of immigrants in the host country.

The present investigation aims to identify possible association between psychological well-being (PWB) and perceived physical and mental health. High or low levels of psychological well-being, considered as a personal resource, may play a role as protective or risk factor for the health and quality of life of immigrants in the host country.
