The article shows the results of a research aimed to define the acoustic performance evolution of the Italian houses. In the research, the most spread technologies used in the construction of Italian low cost houses from post war to nowadays has been analysed. In addition it was measured and estimated acoustic performances of several components used to built houses. Research results show the improvement of acoustic performance over the time.
