The writing focuses on the part of the International Court of Justice judgment on Jurisdictional immunities (Germany v. Italy) which deals with the issue of enforcement in Italy of greek judgments against Germany. After a description of the main arguments of the parties, the paper focuses on the approach adopted by the Court on the issue. It is discussed how the rule on State immunity should operate, consistently with the right of access to justice, by increasing the possibility of enforcement abroad of decisions given against a State.
