The paper reports some of the initial results of an ongoing research on the probabilistic representation of wind pressure field. A 1:500 model of the CAARC standard tall building has been tested in the CRIACIV-DIC Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel and recorded pressures have been analyzed. The statistical analysis of recorded pressure time series has been performed by using different techniques. At first, a probabilistic description has been obtained by both a second order analysis and a higher order one (skewness and kurtosis coefficients). Non-Gaussian characteristics of pressures’ PDF has then been approximated obtained by using a Gram-Charlier type A distribution fitting the data. The results allowed to check the non-Gaussian nature of the wind pressure and to propose a first probabilistic model.
