The survey at this non-structural system, followed by recent earthquakes in Umbria and Marche in 1997, as well as last event in Abruzzo in 2010, established that numerous buildings unfit for use declaration are not subsequent at important structural damages. Due to this fact, more attention must be oriented to non-structural systems that, in case of a seismic event, must be in working conditions because they will be strategic garrisons, for medical and operation facility and first aid at local population. In the present work a dynamic analysis and structural refurbishment, for a liquid oxygen tank near the hospitalization ward in Santa Maria Nuova Hospital, is provided. Starting from structural systems performance required by the actual technical rules, a structural dynamic analysis, on the tank structure coupled with a fluid, is carried out. The aim of the present work is providing a methodological approach for a plant system seismic refurbishment, where every kind of damage provides important risky condition to the whole hospital.
