A project for classifying and cataloging a collection of thousands of antique plaster moulds, by resorting to 3D scanning of their internal surfaces, is in progress at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Florence.In this paper the procedure is applied to a group of moulds probably modeled on a small bronze by G. B. Foggini, the 'Moro' Slave in wax). Results obtatined by an art historic survey on this subject and on its moulds is reported.
