The work is focused on the industrialized construction in Italy during the '60-80's, paying special attention to social housing in the Florence area. In Italy the building industrialization phenomenon started from the '60s and developed in Tuscany with a certain delay. This occurrence involved important changes in the building process organization. Planning phases, design and construction of residential interventions changed and besides the construction companies assumed a different techno-economic structure. In Tuscany, in contrast with other Italian regions such as Emilia Romagna, the interventions realized in accordance with the new processes, didn’t have a large spread. Also the neighborhoods didn't reach a large size, achievable instead with these transformations. However, in the Florence area, there are interesting examples in the application of the new industrialization processes. The paper presents a critical analysis of a case study identified in the collection of 48 interventions for a total of 1888 flats, built by the IACP. A great documentation about these flats is located inside the Historical Archives of Casa SpA in Florence. These interventions have interesting characteristics in terms of industrialized construction techniques, typical of that period, for the patents used, and also for the architectural property of the buildings.
