Abstract

The holographic correspondence, developed within string theory, provides a novel set of tools to address non-perturbative problems in quantum field theory. We provide a short, basic review on some informations which can be inferred, by means of this approach, on equilibrium as well dynamical properties of toy models of the strongly coupled QCD quark-gluon plasma produced in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC.
