RAID is one of nine European projects co-financed by SESAR Joint Undertaking with the purpose to investigate the integration of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) in the non-segregated airspaces. Objectives of the project span from successfully and safely fly an RPAS in un-segregated airspace with a multi-aircraft and manned flight environment, within the procedural, and existent air traffic control environment, to the assessment of the level of maturity, performance, limitations and compatibility with current infrastructures and procedures, of some relevant technologies, such as a ADS_B based Detect and Avoid System (DAA). Both Real-Time simulations with Humans – in – the –loop (RTS-HIL) and Flight Trails in several different scenarios are foreseen in the project. En-Route Operations of the RPAS, entering and leaving a Temporary Segregated Area from/to an unrestricted managed airspace, En-Route Operations of the RPAS under C2L security threats, separation management procedures and DAA system generated maneuvers, will be examples of the scenarios which will be tested in RTS and in-flight trials during the project. Human, Safety and Security Performances, and also DAA system performances will be the set of key areas which will be considered to quantitatively or qualitatively measures the project objectives. The paper will discuss the preliminary results of the RTS-HIL. Real time test beds for the RPAS, other traffic and environmental conditions as well as Controller Working Position will be settled.

Abstract
Real time test beds for the RPAS, other traffic and environmental conditions as well as Controller Working Position will be settled.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
