Abstract
Wikipedia is undoubtedly one of the most popular sites in the world. The use of this onlineencyclopedia appears massively among the student population, but it is also very significant among adults (one in three confer regularly). The frecquency of the portal seems to also be growing in the academic environment, traditionally hostile towards this kind of sources. Indeed, for a long time, the faculty strongly discouraged, if not prohibited, students from consulting Wikipedia. Wikipedia entries offer the public a much diversified uniform access to a very broad scientific knowledge: the basic rule, known as NPOV (Neutral Point of View) is a code of conduct that applies to all language editions, starting from the most common, in the English language. Over the years we have seen that it is not easy to live up to the rule and that in many cases the anonymity of the authors of the entries interfere with the neutrality of the items. These critical elements have not curbed the massive daily use of Wikipedia: Its many ties with teachers and students today presents some questions to us. What representation of the school does Wikipedia offer? What is the relationship between academic history and the history of the web? And what are the differences between the various language editions? The report will try to answer these questions to assess the type of contribution made from Wikipedia entries to the construction of education collectivememory. The survey will be conducted in a comparative way between various language editions, especially the Italian, Spanish, Mexican and French.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
