In the spirit of considering the printing and dissemination of the PHG Seminar Proceeding as an opportunity to disseminate updated knowledge and information useful for supporting the culture of hospital designers in operational terms, the editor of this volume, as a side event to the seminar, wished to offer a contribution to the increasingly topical debate on the criteria, methods and tools in order to steer hospital design towards the humanization of spaces for care. These contributions derive from the results of research conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Health in Italy.
