The essay examines the programming of the International Festival of Bagpipes, set up in Molise, in central Italy, during the period 1992-2002. In particular, the essay analyzes and describes the original music presented in the Festival, for highly innovative instrumental combinations: on the one hand, the music for different types of bagpipes and string orchestra, composed by different musicians; on the other, the music, also original, for orchestra of bagpipes, oboes, clarinets and rhythm section.
