The paper reviews control issues related to the small/medium size renewable energy systems. The focus is on 5 kW photovoltaic systems, the most prone to integration in residential buildings, and on wind turbine systems up to 200 kW, the best choice immediately outside residential areas for their low impact on the landscape. The aim of the paper is to highlight the possibility of these systems to operate both gridconnected both in island mode leading to an universal operation that may change the face of the future power system.

Abstract
The paper reviews control issues related to the small/medium size renewable energy systems. The focus is on 5 kW photovoltaic systems, the most prone to integration in residential buildings, and on wind turbine systems up to 200 kW, the best choice immediately outside residential areas for their low impact on the landscape. The aim of the paper is to highlight the possibility of these systems to operate both gridconnected both in island mode leading to an universal operation that may change the face of the future power system.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
