A new series of Fe(II) SCO complexes [Fe(C6mtz)6](X)2, where C6mtz is 1-(cyclohexyl- methyl)-1H-tetrazole ligand and X is non-coordinating anion (BF4 , ClO4 , or PF6 ), have been synthesized and investigated. The SCO behavior of the small counter-anions BF4 , ClO4 was compared with that of the compound with larger counter-anion PF6 , and they were found to be considerably different. The PF6 compound shows a spin transition at T1/ 2 = 213 K, a considerably higher spin transition temperature (~90 K) than the compounds with the smaller counter-anion BF4 (T1/2 = 126 K) and ClO4 (T1/2 = 119 K).
